Bio
“Garra” is the pseudonym of Daniel Cegarra, a Madrid-based artist who recently ventured into the world of painting after a long career in music.
It was during his early days as a student of the renowned printmaker Roberto Delgado Carrasco that he decided to begin creating original works, inspired by the valuable guidance of his mentor.
In this new realm of abstract art, Garra preserves the essence of his artistic voice shaped through music, continuing to pay meticulous attention to detail—as if each tiny space were a work of art in itself. Through the use of varied strokes and materials, he avoids revealing specific motivations or pursuing a defined representational goal. Instead, he seeks to convey pure energy and movement, inviting the viewer to be guided by the emotions sparked when immersed in the intricate details, lines, and rhythms of each composition—transporting them to their own inner world through a unique personal lens.
“These works are like those elusive songs—songs that, either because they had no lyrics or because we could not translate them, allowed the listener, through imagination, to embrace their message in a truly authentic, personal, and unrepeatable way—creating the most intimate and honest connection.”
